The next wildly popular Small Plates event—intimate progressive dinner along the trail—is Thursday, August 15, 2019. Enjoy a glass of wine paired with a gourmet tapas dish in the tasting rooms of up to three wineries during this unique dinner event that happens just twice per year! Many wineries partner with local chefs to prepare and serve each delicious pairing. Culinary aficionados will enjoy this upscale, gourmet dining experience.


August 15 Menu

Amoritas Vineyards: Soft-shelled chicken street taco and a hard-shelled beef street taco, both garnished with fresh greens and homemade pico de gallo served with savory rice and beans, guacamole and freshly prepared salsa roja and salsa verde. Tacos prepared by Bay Burrito paired with 2017 Semi-Dry Riesling and 2016 Hail Mary Riesling

Aurora Cellars: Crab Cakes atop Salad Greens with a drizzle of Remoulade Sauce paired with Blanc De Noirs

Bel Lago Vineyards & Winery: Chilled Poached Salmon Hollandaise with Freekeh, Tomato, and light Fennel served with Local Greens tossed lightly with a Shallot Vinaigrette paired with Chardonnay

Black Star Farms: Locally sourced all-natural Corned Lamb Chop with Carrot and Parsnip à la Nage and Midnight Maitake Mushroom Glacé paired with Vintners Select

Chateau Fontaine: House-made Pappardelle Pasta and slow-cooked Pulled Pork Ribs Ragu tossed with a Cream Tomato Sauce served with Dressed Greens on the side. Food prepared by PepeNero. Paired with choice of Woodland Red or Laughing Waters Dry Rosé

45 North Vineyard & Winery: Blackened Shrimp Salad: Mixed Greens, Grilled Corn, Tomato, Avocado, Pickled Red Onion, Radish, and Green Onion with a Cilantro Avocado Dressing  paired with Sauvignon Blanc 

Shady Lane Cellars: Sautéed Shrimp served with Capellini with Blistered Tomatoes and Fresh Basil paired with 2017 Gruner Veltliner and 2016 Chardonnay

Soul Squeeze Cellars: Roasted Cauliflower soup paired with 2017 Chardonnay, Smoked Trout Bisque paired with 2017 Chardonnay, Candied Pork Belly & Local Corn Relish paired with sparkling Grüner Veltliner

Verterra Winery: Local Leelanau Greens, local Heirloom Tomatoes with a Secret Vinaigrette Dressing topped by a Grilled Piece of Lake Michigan (local) Salmon.  A fantastic Leelanau summer entrée. Surprise wine pairings, be adventurous!


Tickets are $20 per seating, and you may get tickets for one, two or three seatings, each at the winery of your choice. Seating times are roughly 6 pm, 7:10 pm and 8:20 pm. Tickets must be ordered in advance for this event and always sell out quickly.
