Recipes from the Trail: Spiced Bel Lago Cherry Wine

2008 Bel Lago Cherry WineWe think our Bel Lago Cherry wine is pretty good all by itself, but for the Taste the Passion event we heated it up and added some spices. Even Charlie, our winemaker, had to admit it was really good!

Many folks asked for the recipe and here it is…

For one bottle of Bel Lago Cherry Wine:
6 whole cloves
10 whole allspice berries
1/4 stick of cinnamon
2 small pieces of a smashed nutmeg

Heat wine and spices slowly to 120 degrees. (I used a crock pot.) Strain out spices. Transfer to a thermos to hold temperature or just serve. Really great with dark chocolate.

It doesn't take much spice to enhance the flavor of Bel Lago Cherry Wine. Less is more!
