A new cultural element is being introduced at the Michigan International Auto Show Charity Gala, Wednesday, January 30, at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
To celebrate the growing interest in the culinary arts, eight Michigan wineries have been invited to offer tastings of their award-winning products throughout the evening. Each person attending the Gala will receive a commemorative wine glass and will have the opportunity to taste a variety of Michigan made white, red and sparkling wines.
In addition to the wine tastings, a Michigan-themed menu – crafted by the chefs at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel – is planned. Selections include mixed greens with Michigan dried cherries and Michigan honey shallot vinaigrette, slow roasted basted breast of Michigan turkey, whipped Michigan potatoes, flaming Michigan cherries jubilee served over Hudsonville vanilla ice cream and warm Michigan apple cobbler.
