Four Noteworthy Northern Michigan Pinot Noirs

99arcturospinotnoirMyNorth.com's Tim Tebeau takes note of four Northern Michigan Pinot Noirs to try from Old Mission and Leelanau County wineries, including Shady Lane Cellars, Black Star Farms, Victoria Creek and Two Lads. Of course, this is just a sampling and many other of the regional wineries also make excellent Pinot Noirs. We recommend you try a few of them side by side to find out which ones you prefer. They are definitely an excellent wine to serve at a holiday meal or party.

Pinot Noir’s alluring spectrum of flavors and potential to be drank young or aged for decades elicits the obsession of winemakers, collectors and casual drinkers all. Pinot favors cooler climates and mineral-rich soils, which allows it to thrive in the vineyards of Leelanau County and Old Mission, delivering a delicious complexity unique to our land. Look to some of our fine local pinots for a versatility that accompanies the many flavors of autumn.

Check out his review of the Pinot Noirs on MyNorth.com.
